Remember last August, when a naked Randy Travis was arrested near Sherman, TX on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and threatened to shoot and kill his arresting officers? The Grayson County, TX prosecutors haven't forgotten that incident, and they've now charged Travis with DWI.
Travis allegedly had a blood alcohol content of greater than .15 that night, which is a Class A misdemeanor. If convicted, Travis could spend two years in jail and pay a $4,000 fine.
No court date has been set at this time, but a preliminary hearing will happen in the near future. In a statement, Grayson County district attorney Joe Brown says both sides have been negotiating in the case, and they hope to resolve the matter soon.
Travis was also arrested on a felony charge of retaliation last August because of the threats he made against officers. That charge has not been filed.
