RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU) -  Oneida County officials are investigating a one-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in the Town of Stella, about 10 miles northeast of Rhinelander. Deputies say a 56-year-old man was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 5:15 p.m. The driver’s vehicle left Stella Lake Road and struck a tree.

Investigators couldn’t say if the man died before or after the crash. The Oneida County Medical Examiner is looking into the man’s cause of death. His name is being withheld until family members are notified.
