MADISON, WI (WSAU) - Another battle is brewing between a school and the Madison based Freedom From Religion Foundation.
The atheist group has warned the Jackson Ohio Middle School that a portrait of Jesus is, quote, “an egregious violation of the first amendment” and in a letter, has demanded it removed at once. The picture has hung in the school’s “Hall of Honor” since 1947, and Superintendent Phil Howard says he will not remove the picture with an order from the school board or a judge. Howard says the display comes from a student’s initiative, which makes it permissible for display.
We have a copy of the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s letter attached to this story, above.
