WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - In a few weeks, you’ll again be able to order Girl Scout Cookies. Tomorrow, the Girl Scouts are getting ready with a special training event. It’s called the Cookie Rally.
One of the coordinators is Kelly Gostisha. She says it’s a way to show the scouts many of the skills they need to sell their product. "We're going to have a lot of fun activities to help the girls learn about goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and even learn business ethics." There will be many work stations for the girls to practice their skills and learn the right and wrong way to work with potential customers.
The Girl Scouts have many of the old favorites, but Gostisha says they have a new cookie to offer this year. "We have a new one called a Mango Cream , and it's a light fruity cookie with some coconut and some mango flavor with it."
Official cookie sales begin Friday, January 11th and door-to-door sales last about three weeks. You can expect to find some cookie sales booths after that. Many of the Girl Scouts are also selling by email.
