Worthy Out For Playoffs

GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) Green Bay Packers’ rookie defensive end Jerel Worthy is out for the playoffs with a knee injury suffered in last Sunday’s loss at Minnesota. Coach Mike McCarthy made the announcement after Wednesday's practice.

The Packers have not decided how to replace Worthy on their 53-man roster. McCarthy says the team is still reviewing its options.

Meanwhile, receiver Jordy Nelson was limited at practice Wednesday with a knee injury against the Vikings. The coach said he thought Nelson looked good in a rehab workout – but team doctors still have some concerns, and he’ll be evaluated today.

Back-up receiver Jarrett Boykin will need time to heal from an ankle injury – but McCarthy said it’s not as bad as how it looked during the Vikings’ win over the Packers at the Metrodome.

The Packers are gearing up to face Minnesota again on Saturday night in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. McCarthy said the Packers have made corrections at practice on containing Vikings’ running back Adrian Peterson, who’s had 409 rushing yards against the Pack in their two games during the regular season.
