by

WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -  The Weston teenager who tried to burn his ex-girlfriend’s home is going to prison.

18-year-old Jacob Rykowski was sentenced by Judge Jill Falstad to several concurrent terms adding up to a total of three years in prison followed by another three years under extended supervision. Along with incarceration, Rykowski must pay restitution totalling $5,101 dollars and not have contact with the victims.

Rykowski could have received 40 years behind bars for his actions. He was charged with arson, burglary, stalking, and criminal damage to property after setting a woodpile on fire inside a shed near a Town of Maine house in November of 2011.
