Pointer Women's Hockey has three standout performers

MADISON, WI  (UWSP)  – The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point women's hockey team had three student-athletes receive All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) accolades for their efforts in the 2012-13 season, the final season of the NCHA.  Captains Michelle Lunneborg (Richfield, MN/Richfield) and Nicole Schaub (Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) were both selected to the Honorable Mention All-NCHA team. Lunneborg, a forward for the Pointers, tallied seven goals during the regular season. She netted two power play goals and three game-winning goals. To go along with her seven goals, the senior also tallied a team-leading 11 assists. Against Finlandia on Nov. 2, she posted a game-high three assists to help the Pointers to a 12-0 victory. As a defender for UWSP, Schaub tallied four goals and nine assists during the regular season.  Freshman Josie Johnson (Waunakee, WI/Waunakee) was named to the NCHA All-Rookie Team for her efforts this season. The defender from Waunakee, Wis., tallied four goals and eight assists during the regular season. Of her four goals, one came on the power play and one came when the Pointers were shorthanded.
