STEVENS POINT, WI (UWSP) - Both the UW-Stevens Point men's and women's track and field teams competed well at the Pointer Multi Meet Saturday.
Results Jasmine Haines (East Troy, WI/East Troy), Nicole Hanson(Clintonville, WI/Clintonville), Kristin Mathes (Kiel, WI/Kiel), and Rebecca Vosters placed first in the women's 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:05.30. Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) placed first in the men's one mile run with a time of 4:08.76. Andrew Jacobs (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee), Alec Oestreich (Merrill, WI/Merrill), Nick Melotte, and Daniel Ostrowski (Wautoma, WI/Wautoma) finished first with a time of 3:24.67 in the men's 4x400 meter relay. Brian Thill (Webster, WI/Webster) finished first in the men's high jump heptathlon with 1.91 meters. He also took first in men's shot put heptathlon throwing 12.71 meters.Eric Osterdyk (Pine City, MN/Pine City), Nick Greiger, and Brian Thill (Webster, WI/Webster) took first in the men's pole vault heptathlon, each with 4.25 meters. The Pointers return to action Saturday Feb. 9 for the WIAC Quad Meet in Stevens Point.
