MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) - Marshfield’s school district is checking their math after learning the Superintendent was being overpaid. It started with an article in the Marshfield News Herald showing Superintendent Peg Geegan being paid 143,883 according to state records. That prompted an anonymous letter to the paper showing her contract called for a $130,000 annual salary.
Board President Tim Deets issued a statement saying Geegan’s first eleven months of prorated wages were miscalculated, and steps are being taken to prevent that from happening again. The School acknowledged that Geegan didn’t make the mistake, and that the board is working with the Superintendent to recover the overpayments.
