Hunter Hayes doesn't get to see his extended family that often now that he's touring the world playing country music. That's why he makes it a point to get back home to Louisiana every Christmas.
Hunter says, "That's one of, like, two days out of the year where I know I'm going to see everyone in my family. In Louisiana, everybody lives pretty close together. So, you're gonna see everybody."
Since his life is so hectic touring from town to town, Hunter really enjoys kicking back and relaxing with his family at Christmastime.
"I definitely appreciate it more now that I've moved away than I think I did then," Hunter says, looking back on his childhood Christmases. "We would always just kind of hang out and watch whatever was on TV or just chat about whatever."
Of course, music plays a big role in Hunter's Christmas memories.
He says, "For, like, five years in a row, I asked for musical instruments every year. So, I woke up, and I got a musical instrument, which was awesome."
