MOSINEE, Wis. (WSAU) -- Officials from Focus on Energy and Wisconsin Public Service are praising a number of energy efficiency improvements in the Mosinee School District.
The district got a check for $20,739 dollars Friday morning as part of a grant from Focus on Energy.
The district has been upgrading its facilities, and added new energy efficient HVAC systems, replaced lights, and put in a new timed pool pump for the high school's pool. The new improvements will save the district nearly 220,000 kilowatt hours of electricity and 255 therms of natural gas in the first year alone.
It's part of a series of reimbursements and incentives that are going out to school districts across the area. DC Everest got a check for $94,000 last month for improvements to food service, lighting and boiler services.
