Woman hospitalized after car versus train crash in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) -- A Marshfield woman is hospitalized after her car collided with a train early Friday evening.

Police Sergeant Dennis Keffer says the 58-year-old was alone in a car that was struck by a westbound train next to the intersection of North Maple Avenue and East Veteran’s Parkway.

The crash tied up traffic for a couple of hours, as the train blocked North Vine Avenue and North Central Avenue after the collision.

The North Maple Avenue railroad crossing remains closed until the damage to the traffic control systems can be repaired.

Marshfield Police are investigating the incident.
