Rodgers A No-Go On Sunday

GREEN BAY, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) Aaron Rodgers will not play in Sunday’s Green Bay Packer game at Dallas.

Coach Mike McCarthy said Friday afternoon that Rodgers thought he achieved the hurdle he had to get over – being hit hard without a sizable chance of re-injuring his broken collarbone.  However, after getting the facts from the team’s medical staff, McCarthy said it’s in the Packers’ best interest that Rodgers not play.

That means Matt Flynn will start his third consecutive game.  McCarthy said Flynn had his best practice yesterday, and was very sharp on everything he needed to do.  The coach also said running back Eddie Lacy looked good at today’s practice.  He’s expected to play on Sunday, after hurting an ankle last weekend against Atlanta.

There’s been talk that the Packers might rely more on running back James Starks.  McCarthy said he wouldn’t mind giving the ball to Starks 20 times quote, “if that’s the way it worked out.”

Also, linebackers Nick Perry and Mike Neal practiced on a limited basis today – and both were listed as probable for the Cowboys’ game.
