MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Madison Police have been looking for the driver of a stolen car that was being chased by an officer when it hit a road construction worker.
Officials said the car was going 18 miles an hour over the speed limit on a west side Madison street. It turned onto two other streets, hit a worker on a paving crew, and then crashed at an intersection.
From there, police said the driver ran off.
Police spokesman Joel DeSpain said the worker had burns and other significant injuries, none of which were life-threatening.
Three K-9 units helped police search for the driver Tuesday.
