High school football week 1: SPASH defense looks solid, Wausau-West gets upset win

UNDATED (WSAU)   The SPASH Panthers opened their football season with a 21-0 win over D.C. Everest. The Evergreens starting quarterback Nick Sierakowski left the game with a twisted ankle in the first half and did not return.

Wausau-West upset the Marshfield Tigers, 10-9.

Wisconsin Rapids started their season with a win in a shootout over the Wausau-East Lumberjacks, 42-28. 256 yards rushing for Rapids fullback Ryan Duxbury...280 yards passing for East QB Bryce Widmark.
