RHINELANDER, Wis. (WXPR) - A Rhinelander man charged with first degree attempted homicide will be back in court next week.

23-year-old Marcus Alsteens of Mason Street was arrested after a dispute the night of August 12 over household chores ramped up to a gunshot wound.

Alsteens left the home and was apprehended at the intersection of Highways 70 and 17 outside of Eagle River.

Alsteens uncle, 49 year old Justin Alsteens remains in critical condition at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Monday in Oneida County Circuit Court, Judge Patrick O'Melia continued a $50,000 cash bond and set Alsteens' next court appearance for August 28. Alsteens is also charged with two other felonies, and a misdemeanor.
