George Strait has some very special treats in store for the final leg of his The Cowboy Rides Away tour next year. He tells Billboard with a laugh, "Yes, me and the whole band are going to be dancing on stage next year. Wait till you see the little outfits."
In all seriousness, George plans to make some big announcements about next year's tour in September. Until then, he's reflecting on the first run of shows on The Cowboy Rides Away tour he played earlier this year.
He says, "Everywhere we played this year was special, and I've got to say I almost lost it a few times knowing I may never play some of those places again."
Once George says goodbye to life on the road, he'll miss the sound of his fans in the audience the most. He's thought of a way to remember those good times on stage forever though.
"When I can't do it anymore, just play me one of the live recordings I've done and let me hear those great fans out there," George says. "It will bring a big smile to my face, for sure."
As previously reported, George Strait will be the first country artist given the Billboard Touring Awards Legend of Live honor November 14 in New York City.
