STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) - If you want to get out and enjoy the weather, you can get out and run as part of a benefit for the Boston bombing victims.
The committee that organizes the Point Bock Run in Stevens Point is having an untimed non-competitive walk and run later today starting at 6:00 p.m. at Iverson Park.
Point Brewery’s Marketing Director Julie Barrenkott says any funds raised will go to One Fund Boston, which is assisting Boston area people affected by the bombing. “There’s two different routes. there’s a running route of 3.5 miles, It’s untimed and non-competitive. Basically, you can just bring a donation and the Point Bock Run will match all contributions.”
The run has a 3.5 mile course using the Green Circle, Patch Street, the Michigan Avenue underpass, and Dixon Street back to Iverson Park. The walking route is one and a half miles.
Motorists on Patch Street, Dixon Street, and the Michigan Avenue railroad underpass will need to pay attention and watch for runners this evening.
