MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Most football fans attending the University of Wisconsin spring game at Camp Randall Stadium were just fine with the tighter security they encountered.
Some say they were nervous being part of a big crowd. The annual spring game drew a little over 12,000 fans last Saturday in Madison.
With the images from the Boston Marathon bombing looming in everyone’s mind, stadium officials say it was important to make sure everyone in the stands felt safe.
Fans were cooperative as security personnel checked jackets and bags a little more thoroughly than normal. Additional officers and bomb-sniffing K-9 units were present.
