WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) Wausau East High School announces that Jeff Sorenson has been named the new Head Boys Soccer Coach. Sorenson replaces Brian Buege who resigned at the completion of the 2012 season after having led the Lumberjacks to the Wisconsin Valley Conference championship.
Coach Sorenson brings with him an extensive history of successful soccer development in Wausau. Jeff is the founder and current president of the Wausau United Soccer Club. Under his leadership the club has grown steadily over the last several years to a level where it now boasts over 160 players. Prior to his development of the Wausau United Soccer Club, Sorenson was heavily involved with the Wausau Area Youth Soccer Association.
From Athletic Director Greg Harvey:
“We are very proud to have Jeff on board as our new Head Boys Soccer Coach. During the interview process, Jeff displayed a clear passion for teaching and coaching soccer. Jeff will bring a solid commitment to the long-term development of our boys soccer program. Coach Sorenson is eager to get started, and we are certain that he will establish a program that the Wausau School District can be very proud of.”
