WAUSAU, Wisc (WSAU) The sentencing hearing has been delayed for a former corrections officer who stole drugs from former inmates she was supervising. Kim Hoenisch, the wife of former Marathon County sheriff Randy Heonisch, was going to be sentenced on April 25. That's been rescheduled to a not-yet-announced date.
Hoenisch's lawyer is also asking for a new pre-sentencing investigation. That motion was filed in Marathon County court in Tuesday. That's the report that judges use to determine the appropriate punishment after a trial.
The initial pre-sentence report was prepared by the state Department of Justice. Hoenisch worked for them while she was a corrections officer. Her lawyer wants an outside agency to conduct a separate report.
Hoenisch pled guilty in January to charges of misconduct in public office, burglary, possession of narcotics and possession of a drug without a prescription. She's free on a $10,000 signature bond.
