Brewers Host Cubs This Weekend

MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU)   The Milwaukee Brewers take a four-game winning streak and a whole bunch of confidence into their weekend series with the Chicago Cubs that begins tonight at Miller Park.

The Brewers were three innings away from being swept at Saint Louis last Sunday. But they came-from-behind to beat the Cards in 10 innings – and they followed it up with three straight home victories over the defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants.

The Brewers are on a roll despite injuries to key starters like Aramis Ramirez and Corey Hart. But they’ve also had to work around Ryan Braun, who’s just 2-for-his-last-22 despite getting a two-run homer yesterday.

And the club had to deal with Yovani Gallardo’s drunk driving arrest this week, before he threw his first gem of the season yesterday. He gave up just one run in six innings against the Giants.

Meanwhile, the Cubs will try to end five straight losses at Miller Park. They’re 5-and-9, as the Cubbies begin a 10-day road trip.

Brewers’ right-hander Marco Estrada will face Chicago right-hander Jeff Samardzija. You can hear the game on WSAU at 6:35.
