STEVENS POINT, Wisc (WSAU) Former UW-Stevens Point chancellor Philip Marshall has died. He was 86. He led UWSP from 1979 to 1989.
Marshall was from Washington State. He died of natural causes on March 18 -- his death was announced by the university yesterday.
He was a former chancellor at Eastern Washington State before coming to Stevens Point. He was also a dean at Albion College in Pennsylvania. And he continued to teach as a science professor at UWSP for two years after he was no longer chancellor, and he worked for the National Science Foundation.
The Philip and Helen Marshall Chemistry Research Fund was established in his honor to support the faculty's scientific research.
