MERRILL, WI (WSAU) - The former treasurer of the Merrill-Tomahawk Tavern League won't be serving any jail time on an embezzlement charge.
48-year-old Rhonda Wiese of Tomahawk plead guilty to theft charges as part of a plea deal and was sentenced on Monday to 36 months on probation.
Prosecutors say Wiese used money from the Tavern League for personal spending on several occasions from April of 2010 and January of 2012. In a police report, Wiese said she knew it was wrong, but that she planned to give the money back at some point.
As part of the sentence, Wiese will have to pay the Tavern League $500 and Society Insurance $21,711 in restitution.
