Power out in much of the northwoods Monday

LAC DU FLAMBEAU, WI (WSAU) -  Power is still out for many people in the northwoods after heavy, wet snow caused problems for power lines. Wisconsin Public Service spokesperson Leah Van Zile says crews from other areas are in the Lac du Flambeau, Boulder Junction, and St. Germain areas to help restore service. WPS is hoping to get everyone back in service by late Monday.

Zile says the heavy wet snow caused pine tree branches to bend, sometimes break and then fall into power lines, WPS advises everyone to stay away from any down power lines and tree branches, and call your utility provider.

The WPS phone number to report outages is 800-450-7240. They also have updates on their website.
