STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) - A truck driver was injured and about 25-hundred gallons of milk was spilled early Monday near Stevens Point. Portage County Sheriff’s investigators say the tank truck overturned on U.S. Highway 10 during foggy conditions about 5:00 a.m. near Interstate 39.
The driver is a man from Green Lake who was on his way to Greenwood with a load of milk for the Grassland Butter plant. The name of the driver hasn’t been released, but authorities say he was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators say the driver was using his seatbelt, and it probably prevented more serious injuries.
The tank truck had over 5-thousand gallons of milk when it tipped.
