Teske Steps Down As East Hoops Coach

WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) Jason Teske resigned as head boys basketball coach at Wausau East. The announcement came on Monday. Teske has been the head coach for 12 years after taking over for Dennis Blunk.

The Lumberjacks won four Wisconsin Valley Conference Championships in that time and also made two WIAA State Tournament appearances in 2004 & 2007.

In a school release Teske said "I have greatly appreciated the opportunity I was given to lead the Wausau East boys team over the last 12 seasons. It has been an honor to coach many outstanding student-athletes during my time at East. I also had the pleasure to work with several outstanding and highly committed assistant coaches and I am very grateful for that opportunity as well. Our success both on and off the court is something that I am very proud of".

Athletic Director Greg Harvey said a search for a new coach will begin immediately.
