STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) - The City of Stevens Point will definitely have a new city attorney. After the Tuesday elections, incumbent Louis Molepske Senior had 42 fewer votes than alderman and challenger Andrew Logan Beveridge, but there were still 87 absentee ballots outstanding. City Clerk John Moe said if the absentee ballots were postmarked by election day and arrived at the office by today, they would still count.
The City Clerk’s office has received today’s mail, and only four of the outstanding ballots have arrived. That means Beveridge will win the position held by Molepske for the past 45 years.
