MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) The City of Marshfield has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture as part of the USDA’s Rural Business Opportunity Program.
City administrator Steve Barg says the funds will be used by the city’s newly-formed Economic Development Board to do some comprehensive economic planning for the city. That board, which was formed late last spring, will work with consultants on ways to grow economic development in the city.
The funds will also be used for the creation of a comprehensive, one-stop website for economic development in the Marshfield area.
Barg said the city considers “it a great honor” to have been chosen for the grant from so many applicants from across the country.
