Milwaukee cop injured after squad collides with minivan

MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - A crash with a mini-van has left a Milwaukee police officer with serious injuries.

The officer was in uniform and driving a marked squad car when the accident happened Monday at about 11 a.m. in the 3700 block of West Richards Street.

Two people in the mini-van were taken to a hospital with what were not thought to be life-threatening injuries.

Police say the veteran officer was alone in the squad car at the time. He is 40 years old, with 19 years of service in the department.

Though his injuries are serious, they, too, are not thought to be life-threatening.
