PARDEEVILLE, WI (WTAQ) - Two women were killed when their car collided with a dump truck near Pardeeville in south central Wisconsin.
It happened late Tuesday morning at an intersection of three rural roads.
Columbia County authorities said the car stopped at stop sign, and then proceeded into the path of a dump truck owned by an excavating firm from Poynette. The impact forced the car into a nearby ditch, while the truck tipped on its side.
The 61-year-old driver died at the scene, along with her adult female passenger. The 47-year-old dump truck driver was taken to a Portage hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sheriff’s deputies continue to investigate the crash. The victims’ names were not immediately released, pending notification of relatives.
