WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - A Wausau woman is in jail, charged with animal abuse. The criminal complaint says Sean D. Janas not only poisoned her boyfriend’s dog with bleach and drain cleaner, but that she made several disturbing diary entries detailing the pleasure she got from watching the dog whimper and cry. One diary entry said, "I need to find a way to kill her without it looking like I killed her."
The dog died June 4th. Neighbors reported hearing Janas yelling at the dog and later observed her striking the dog in the back yard with a leash. They believe she also stabbed the dog.
Sean Janas is currently jailed on a $2,500 dollar cash bond. She is charged with mistreatment of animals, exposing a domestic animal to a poisonous substance, and obstructing an officer. If convicted, she could get five years in prison and over $30,000 in fines. Janas’ preliminary hearing is October 31st
Roommate and dog owner Steven Kuick was unaware of Janas’ efforts to kill his pet.
