WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAU) - A Wisconsin Rapids police officer is in "fair" condition today after a traffic crash Saturday night.
Reports say the crash happened while the officer was responding to a call from another municipality. While enroute, the officer lost control of his squad car and crashed into a wall at 1st and Gardner in Wisconsin Rapids. The officer was cut from the vehicle by fire crews and airlifted to St. Joseph's in Marshfield.
The officer's name has not been released. Officials from the department would not comment this morning, but say that more information will be made available when they are through investigating the accident.
