WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - Police confirm that two guns recovered after two deaths were stolen from central Wisconsin gun dealers during recent robberies.
One handgun was recovered after a police involved shooting of a Wausau man in Eau Claire October 5th, and the second recovered gun was the weapon used in the homicide in Weston last weekend.
Wausau Police Chief Jeffrey Hardel says they are working with Lincoln County authorities and seeking help from the public to locate the other 53 handguns taken from Condition One in Wausau and Statton’s General Store near Tomahawk.
Anyone with information about the stolen guns is encouraged to contact police.
