REDGRANITE (WSAU) There's a controversial campaign sign along Highway 21 in Waushara County.

In red letters it says 'Hang In There Obama' -- and to the left it shows a picture of a hangman's noose.

Thomas Savka made the large sign which is clearly visible from the road. He said it's actually meant as a pro Obama message -- of 'hang in there, don't give up the fight'.

Many consider the sign offensive, saying it has racial and lynching implications. Savka says that was not his intention. The Obama campaign released a statement saying 'this kind of imagery is offensive.'
