RHINELANDER, Wisc (WSAU) - A private plane made an emergency landing in Rhinelander Sunday night. The incident happened at about 8:00 p.m. when the pilot noticed an indicator light showing he had an engine fire. The pilot was able to use the on-board fire extinguisher system to put out the fire.
Rhinelander and Crescent Fire Departments were waiting at the Oneida County Airport runway to assist when the plane landed.
The pilot was on it's way to the Lakeland Airport when the fire broke out forcing him to land in Rhinelander instead.
