MERRILL, WI (WSAU) - There are more and more car-deer crashes lately. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Caylor says the number of car deer crashes has increased and the crashes are becoming more violent. Caylor says several vehicles had to be towed after striking deer this past week. Most of the crashes happened after 6:00 PM.
Deer are not the only animals causing problems for motorists. Caylor says another bear was also struck in Lincoln County last Tuesday. A Park Fall’s man reported striking the bear on US Hwy 51 near Lincoln Drive. The man had minimal damage to his pickup truck but the bear had to be put down.
