MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) - One of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s former aides is pleading guilty  to charges he stole thousands of dollars from a non-profit group for veterans.

Tim Russell was on Walker’s staff from 2002 to 2010 while Walker was Milwaukee County Executive.

Prosecutors charged Russell with stealing at least $21,000 from a group Walker had asked him to lead.

Russell entered a guilty plea Thursday in exchange for the dismissal of some of the charges he was facing.

The charges came as the result of the secret John Doe investigation into Walker’s associates and campaign donors which was start in May 2010.  Four people have been convicted, but the governor hasn’t been charged with any wrongdoing himself.
