Hubley Named State Football POY


MADISON, WI (WSAU) Wisconsin media members have chosen Catholic Memorial’s Matt Hubley as Associated Press 2012 Player of the Year. Hubley rushed for 16 hundred 58 yards and 21 touchdowns for the Crusaders, leading his team to an 11-2 record. He also moved from strong safety to outside linebacker, producing 17 tackles for loss and a defensive touchdown.

Dave Keel of Homestead was named AP Coach of the Year. The Highlanders went 12-1 and ended Waunakee’s 48-game winning streak, 14-0, in the Division 2 Championship game a week ago today.

Area players named to first team All-State include Hayden Biegel of Wisconsin Rapids, Adam Wachowiak of Stevens Point and Ryan Makuski from Amherst.
