STEVENS POINT,WI (WSAU) - A Nekoosa man convicted of beating and robbing three people during a house party last spring is going to prison.

28-year-old Triston Carter was sentenced Wednesday for two counts of armed robbery and aggravated battery with intent to cause bodily harm. He will spend 7 1/2 years in prison followed by another 7 1/2 years of extended supervision. Carter will also be responsible for over 75 hundred dollars in lost wages to the victims and additional restitution to be determined later.

The incident happened March 19th 2012 at a home on Clark Street in Stevens Point. Police say Carter was one of three men who entered the party with what appeared to be a rifle and began beating people. They demanded money and cell phones and then left. Three people were injured.
