BURLINGTON, WI (WSAU) - Federal Aviation Administration investigators are examining the crash of a small airplane Sunday afternoon. The crash happened near the Burlington, WI airport just before 1:30 p.m. A single-engine Grumman AA1 crashed while trying to land. Both of the people on board died. Their names and hometowns have not been released.
FAA authorities don’t know the origination of this flight. The Burlington airport has no control tower, and the pilot was not in contact with air traffic controllers. The airplane crashed in a cornfield. Walworth County investigators plan to release more information about the incident Monday, November 19th.
