PLOVER, WI (WSAU) -  The name of the victim from Friday’s fatal mobile home fire near Plover has been released. Portage County Chief Deputy Daniel Kontos says the victim was 55-year-old Sanjuana Esquivel.

Kontos says an autopsy was performed, and all evidence points to Esquivel dying from smoke inhalation. The cause of the blaze is still unknown.  Kontos doesn’t expect any foul play or suspicious causes to the fire, which remains under investigation by the Plover Fire Department and the Portage County Fire Investigation Task Force.

The deadly fire happened a little after 7:00 a.m. Friday at Birch Tree Estates in the Town of Plover, just off Highway 54 east of the Village of Plover.
