GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) Green Bay Packers’ linebacker Clay Matthews will sit out of Sunday’s game at Detroit. Coach Mike McCarthy said this afternoon that Matthews is still being bothered by a hamstring injury suffered on November fourth against Arizona.
The next day, McCarthy said the All-Pro would be out for “a couple weeks” – and the two-week mark will come the day after the Lions’ game. The coach said he’s known for a while that Matthews would be out – and he’s had some time to plan for it.
He also said receiver Greg Jennings would not return for the Lions’ game. He’s still recovering from surgery on an abdominal muscle that stemmed from a groin injury – and McCarthy is not sure if Jennings will start practicing again next week. Jennings expects to play again either November 25th against the Giants at New York, or December second at home against Minnesota.
