STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) - A 26-year-old from Stevens Point Arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and fleeing officers 14 months ago will be sentenced in February. Timothy Conway refused to pull over during a traffic stop. Police say he tried to throw away a 9-mm handgun while eluding officers. He was eventually caught after a brief foot-chase.
Conway entered pleas to some, but not all of the charges against him yesterday as part of a plea deal. He is likely to get six years in prison plus 5-to-8 years of extended supervision after he gets out. Conway will appear before Portage County Judge Thomas Flugar February 6th for sentencing.
