OSHKOSH, WI (WSAU) U-W Oshkosh and Saint Norbert are among the 32 teams named last night to the N-C-A-A Division-Three football playoffs.
And as expected, three-time defending national champion U-W Whitewater did not make the field, after losing three games this season – including W-I-A-C defeats in successive weeks to league champion Oshkosh and Stevens Point.
Oshkosh will host Saint Scholastica of Duluth in the first round on Saturday, while Saint Norbert will play at Saint Thomas of Saint Paul.
Saint Norbert won the automatic playoff bid from the Midwest Conference, by beating Lake Forest 20-to-10 on Saturday. Both the Green Knights and Foresters shared the Midwest crown at, both at 8-and-1 in league play.
Oshkosh remains at Number-five in the final D-Three-Football-Dot-Com poll of the regular season at 10-and-0. Platteville, which finished at 8-and-2, is ranked 13th despite the lack of a playoff berth. Whitewater received enough votes to be 11 places out of the Top-25. Mount Union still leads the poll at 10-and-0.
