RHINELANDER, Wis (WSAU) The Rhinelander School District may shut down its charter school program. They're facing a $3-million budget shortfall.
The Northwoods Community Secondary School currently serves 67 students. It acts as a school-within-a-school. Classes are held at Rhinelander High School. Shutting down the program would save the district about $400,000.
The school board meets tonight to discuss possible budget cuts. They may also lay-off 8 full-time teachers, and make cuts to sports and co-curricular activities.
