Crack, Heroin found in Wausau Thursday drug bust: 5 arrested


WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -  Five people are in custody following a Wausau drug bust Thursday afternoon. Officers from several enforcement agencies executed search warrants at two Wausau addresses after a month-long investigation. One home is on Cherry Street and the other on North 6th Avenue.

Authorities seized heroin and crack cocaine with a street value between $3,000 and $5,000 dollars.

Will E. Conners and Keion F. Jives from Milwaukee were two of the suspects arrested. Larry W. King, Victoria Espinoza, and Bernard N. Welch also known as Harry Pitts from Wausau were also apprehended. Conners and Welch now face drug trafficking charges. The others are being held for probation violations. All will have initial appearances Monday at 2:00 p.m.

Marathon County’s SWAT team and the Special Investigations Unit worked with agents from Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigations and Federal Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms during the Thursday arrests.
