Jennings Has Surgery, Many Packers Miss Practice

GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) Green Bay Packers’ receiver Greg Jennings had surgery today to fix the groin injury that has caused him to miss much of the season. Coach Mike McCarthy said the procedure went well – and it could be a minimum of a couple weeks before Jennings can return to action. The operation was performed in Philadelphia. It was first scheduled for Tuesday, but it was delayed due to Superstorm Sandy.

Jennings first injured the groin on September 9th against San Francisco. He has not played since September 30th, when he aggravated the injury against New Orleans. Jennings scored his only touchdown of the season against the Saints.

Also yesterday, McCarthy said corner Sam Shields and linebacker Nick Perry appear to be doubtful for Sunday’s home game against Arizona – the last contest before the Packers’ bye week. Neither practice today. Receiver Jordy Nelson, fullback John Kuhn, and defensive end Jerel Worthy did not take part in the workout either. Several others were limited.

Receiver Donald Driver and quarterback Aaron Rodgers both had full participation in today’s practice.
