STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) – The Stevens Point Brewery will be adding a second shift to their packaging line to keep up with an increase in production.
The brewery recently went through an increase in production capacity and managing partner Joe Martino says this is a natural growth. “If you're making more beer you obviously have to package it.” The move will add 5 more people to the factory.
Martino says they're happy to be adding jobs as well, and that increased production will be good for the area.
Point recently spent $1.1 million dollars to add eleven new brewing tanks to the plant. That included nine new fermentation tanks, two new bright beer tanks, a new 7,000 gallon hot water tank and a centrifuge for filtering finished beer. The project will help increase annual production by 20 percent to 120,000 barrels of beer.
