OAK CREEK, Wis (WRN) Does the governor want to be pals with Democratic lawmakers, now that the divisive recall is in the past? They’re still working to finalize a date, but Governor Scott Walker will invite lawmakers of both parties for brats, burgers and Wisconsin beer at the Executive Residence in Madison, as Walker tries to move the state forward from the divisive recall. “The election’s over,” a hoarse Walker said during a stop in Oak Creek on Wednesday “We’re no longer political opponents, we’re all Wiscosinites.”Walker was asked about death threats which have allegedly been made via social media. “Elected officials get some of those all the time. We don’t ever compromise our safety, but I’m never going to let that stand in the way of doing my job,” he said.
And asked about any national ambitions – such as a vice-presidential nod – Walkers suggests Congressman Paul Ryan would make a great VP pick
